Close to home victory - doubles finalists

Updated: Apr 18

It was a week full of emotions, high-level tennis, and a fantastic home crowd – right in the middle of it all was Zurich native Jenny Dürst, who advanced to the doubles final at the prestigious Bellinzona Ladies Open (ITF W75). Together with her American partner Elizabeth Mandlik, Jenny delivered an impressive performance and narrowly missed out on claiming the title.

In a high-quality final, the duo faced the Czech-Greek team of Aneta Kucmova and Sapfo Sakellaridi, who ultimately edged out the win. But even though the title slipped away, Jenny’s performance at her home tournament was a strong statement: the 26-year-old played with confidence, presence, and determination – qualities that have long defined her game.

For Jenny, reaching the final was not only a sporting achievement but also an emotional milestone. Competing in front of a home crowd and making it all the way to the final round gave the tournament a special meaning. It highlights just how much potential the Swiss player has – especially on the international doubles stage.

The Bellinzona Ladies Open once again served as an important platform for Swiss tennis talents and established players alike. Jenny’s performance is another chapter in the positive development of women’s tennis in Switzerland – and it certainly leaves us wanting more.

We’re excited to see what’s next for Jenny in the coming weeks.

After a short recovery and training phase, the next Swiss home tournament is already around the corner: the ITF W75 in Chiasso.
