Double family power on tour

The last two tournament weeks were a bit different – and really great. At the W35 in Amstelveen, Jenny was accompanied by her cousin. Although she doesn’t come from a tennis background, it felt incredibly good to have someone by her side. It was a great change not to feel alone during the tournament. Jenny reached the quarterfinals and was satisfied with her performance.
Right after, she continued to Spain – to the W35 in Don Benito, this time with her sister. Her sister plays tennis herself, so they could often train together. That was a lot of fun! The conditions were tough though: 40 degrees Celsius, with matches starting as early as 8:30 am. Jenny started the tournament well, winning two clear rounds – and still stood on the court with her sister in the evenings.
The week turned into a pure supermarket food trip – Spanish cuisine and especially the late meal times just aren’t her thing. In the quarterfinal, Jenny had a slow start but managed to turn the match around. Her opponent was once ranked 143 in the WTA rankings – you could tell. In the semifinal, she had to concede defeat. The carpet surface was unusual, and Jenny had to adjust her game, but her opponent was simply better that day.
We are still very happy with the semifinal result. Now Jenny is taking two weeks off to fully relax and recharge by going sailing with family and friends, before starting preparations for the Swiss Interclub. We’re looking forward to the upcoming matches with GC Zürich!
