Cyprus Tour: Two intense tournament weeks with a happy ending
March 17–30, 2025
The first clay court tournaments of the season took our athlete Jenny to Cyprus for two weeks – a journey marked by tough conditions, valuable experience, and a very special success.
Staying on a small, idyllic farm with her mother as her travel companion, Jenny found not only rest between matches but also true hospitality. Fresh eggs every morning, orange trees in the garden – the perfect setting for focused preparation and recovery.
Tournament 1 – Windy battles and lessons learned
The first tournament week proved anything but easy: strong winds, unusually cold temperatures, and inconsistent court conditions challenged all the players. Still, Jenny fought her way to the semifinals, where she narrowly lost in three sets. A frustrating defeat, but one that provided valuable insights for the upcoming challenges. A free Sunday and a scenic trip to Cape Greco offered a well-deserved mental break.

Tournament 2 – A birthday week with the perfect gift
In week two, everything came together. Jenny found her rhythm, celebrated her birthday along with her mother – and ended the week with a tournament victory. The final was a real battle against a former world No. 207 from Romania. Jenny led 6:3, 3:6, 4:3 and held game point at 40:30 in the deciding set – when a nearly 2.5-hour rain delay interrupted the match.
After the long break, Jenny returned to the court with impressive composure, winning five points in a row to seal the match and clinch her second ITF title of the year. A truly remarkable display of mental strength and resilience.
Immediately after the final, it was a quick trip back to the Airbnb, a fast pack-up – and off to the airport, where Jenny immediately shifted her focus to the next challenge. While her mother returned home, Jenny continued straight to Heraklion for her next W15 tournament.
Conclusion – A strong start to the clay season
The two weeks in Cyprus were full of challenges, growth, and rewarding moments. The conditions weren’t always ideal – windy weather, difficult courts – but in the end, Jenny left with a title and plenty of confidence for what’s ahead.
Jesslethics, as her management team, is proud of her performance and mindset – and looks forward to what this season has in store.
